Students give opinions to teachers for the next schoolyear

Annelise Marsh, Rooster Reporter

Teachers are there to help their students improve and succeed in whatever subject area they teach. But it’s not often that students are able to give feedback to the teachers or administration to help them improve.

High school students have a lot of experience being a student and dealing with teachers, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that they have a fixed set of opinions of what makes a school or teacher suitable.

From policies to teaching methods, Reagan students give their insight on what they think the staff should do better for the next school year.

“I think that there should be a looser policy for phones out in class when teachers aren’t teaching and we’re just doing busy work.” Corey Ferner (9)

“Teachers should do more hands-on activities with their students.” Carsen Hamrick (10)

“Bring back the Career Center parking lot.” Olivia Solis (11)

“Teachers should pay more attention to how they distribute their attention among all of their students and try to keep it fair.” Bailey Presley (9)

“I think it would be fun to go outside more in my classes.” Lorenzo Denton (9)

“Teachers should be more understanding about the amount of homework they give.” Liam Bowen (11)

“Try to only focus on stuff we have to know for the class so we can learn the information in time for the exam.” Kathryn Krull (9)

“Remove the zero-tolerance policies from schools and discipline more accordingly to the extent of the action rather than follow set punishments.” Terrance Saunders (10)

“I wish teachers would keep in mind we have other classes.” Katie Safrit (11)
