Crocs have been around since 2002 and will forever be the best shoes on the market.  

“I got my first pair of Crocs around the time they first came out because they were the cool thing to get in second grade,” said junior Abby White.  “I have been wearing Crocs ever since.”

Crocs have become more popular in recent years.  Many people started wearing the glorious spectacle of a shoe at a young age and love them as much now as they did then.  Some say that they will soon go out of style, while others believe that they are here to stay.

“Crocs will never go out of style because they have a timeless design and are practical,” said junior Brendan Popella.  “They can be worn with many different styles of clothing in different temperatures and seasons.”

Unlike other shoes such as Birkenstocks and Chacos, God’s gift to the world Crocs offer a plethora of styles, colors, and accessories for their shoes.  Some people think other brands of shoes are better simply because they are more appealing to the eye.

“Crocs are the rawest shoes ever and nothing can beat how they’re waterproof, super comfortable, way more affordable,” said sophomore Courtney Bravinder.  “You can run in them but also slip them on, and they come in fun colors unlike Birkenstocks.  They are not as ugly as people say they are and if people realized how comfortable they actually are, they wouldn’t judge as much.  I think that they are fashionable.”

While some people like them for their versatility, others like them for their practicality and durability.

“Crocs are basically indestructible,” said junior Tori Furches.  “They can be bent, soaked, splattered or anything and come back to the original form.  Of course they are superior to other shoes due to their high resilience.”

One thing that Crocs offers that really specializes the shoes are Jibbitz.  Jibbitz are little charms that you can put in the holes of Crocs.  The wide  variety of Jibbitz to choose from can really add to the personality of your shoes.

“I have a storm trooper Jibbit on my Crocs to spice up the style a bit,” said sophomore Caleb Sizemore.  “ I like the original style because they are super comfortable, the most well-known and the most fashionable.”

Critics of Crocs often say the addition of Jibbitz or even just Crocs in general are childish.  While I have yet to see a child wear styles of Crocs like high heels or boots, the original style in particular does have a youthful sense to it.

“People think that Crocs are only for kids, but they aren’t,” said Reynolds junior Sully Shore.  “I think they should be appreciated more.”

While some people only like Crocs or wear them solely because their friends do, others love them with a burning passion.  Deciding on which pair of Crocs to wear each day is a well thought out process.  Not only does one have to choose colors, but also what Jibbitz truly suit the mood of the day.

“I like to wear Crocs because they are comfortable and an easy go-to,” said senior Devon Nedved.  “They add another element to an outfit.  I have Jibbitz in some pairs and not in others.  Some pairs speak for themselves alone.  In other pairs that I put in Jibbitz, I pick the ones that reflect my personality or just the things that I really like.”

I believe that everyone should own a pair of crocs, even if they are not the original clog style.  You can dress them up with some fun socks or wear them with no socks at all. Plus they have a shoe for every occasion.

“Crocs are so cute and a great shoe to have,” said sophomore Riley Bostain.  “I’ve worn them my whole life and I love them.”
