Well, it is officially that time of the year again: Valentine’s Day. Whether you love the holiday or despise the holiday, the sweets and treats will always add some positivity to the day. So, how about we kick off this Valentine’s season?
This Valentine’s Day bark, as seen on delish.com, serves the website name right; it was delicious! With just the right ratio of sweet and salty, it is sure to make your February a little better.
The bark is also extremely easy to make with minimal ingredients. It has a five minute prep time and an hour long refrigeration period, making around 12 servings.
1 ½ cup pretzels
24 ounces of semisweet chocolate (milk or dark)
6 ounces of white chocolate
Heart sprinkles (or another lovey-dovey decoration of your choice!)
Red, pink and white sprinkles
Get a baking sheet and line it with parchment paper.
Melt the semisweet chocolate and pour it onto the parchment paper, spreading evenly.
Spread the pretzels out in the melted chocolate.
Cover the pretzels and the other areas of melted chocolate with red, white and pink sprinkles.
Melt the white chocolate and put it in a piping bag (if you do not have one, simply put it in a ziplock bag and cut a little bit out of one corner) and pipe the white chocolate into the middle of each pretzel, creating a heart shape.
Put a heart sprinkle (or other decoration) in the middle of the icing piped on the pretzel.
Refrigerate for around an hour, or until adequately hardened.
After that, break the semisweet chocolate into pieces of your liking, and voila! Valentine’s bark!
I could not find heart shaped sprinkles, so I used Valentine’s M&Ms, and they were just as adorable and festive!
I am generally someone who is not a fan of Valentine’s Day, aside from the chocolate part of the holiday. Making this treat made the season way more enjoyable, and I highly recommend it! Happy Valentine’s Day from everyone on the Rooster!
