DIY Snow globe

Due to the fact that I did not add glycerin, the glitter and snow did not float the way it should have. Though, if added the snow will float to the bottom. This is a perfect gift to give to your loved ones for the Holidays.

As a kid, I can remember having holiday parties at school.  It was during these celebrations that we made some sort of craft to take home & give to our parents or close family members.  Now, as a broke high school student who can not afford to buy presents to give this year, a handmade craft is the perfect heartwarming gift to give during this holiday season.  A simple craft that takes little-to-no time to make is a snow globe. In order to make one, you will need a mason jar, a small figure to place inside, glycerin (which can be bought at a local drug store), white pom-poms to use for snow, fake snow and glitter.

How to make:

  1. Glue the small figure to the top of the mason jar. Then glue the pom-poms to the surrounding area of the lid.
  2. Fill the jar with cold water.
  3. Add 2 tablespoons of glitter and fake snow and stir them in the jar.
  4. Add a few drops of glycerin (this makes the glitter and fake snow float better)
  5. Twist on the lid, and turn the jar upside down and shake.
