Thoughts of a first time awards show watcher
March 28, 2018
- Well, apparently the red carpet begins before the actual scheduled time of the event… so I missed that.
- I am now realizing how many actors and actresses I don’t know by name.
- I didn’t know this had been going on 90 years.
- That’s a lot of famous people in one place, wouldn’t this be a big terrorist target?
- How do I become an actress? It seems kinda fun.
- If I was an awards show host, there is no way I could remember all of these names.
- How do these people speak so calmly in front of all these people?
- Should I have heard of these movies, because I haven’t heard of half of them.
- I thought “The Shape of Water” was a deep philosophical movie… why is there an alien water creature?
- Do the male actors simply rent their tuxes?
- All these women have great, complex dresses, and the tuxes are so simple.
- I didn’t know these people actually thanked a list of people, I thought that was just a stereotype.
- There are so many commercial breaks.
- Do the people in the audience get to see the movie scenes we watch at home?
- What does the audience do during commercial breaks?
- How much money does it take for all these stage arrangements, and why do they have so many?
- Why is this on a Sunday?
- Should I know the difference between sound editing and sound mixing?
- What are the awards made of?
- This is a good platform to speak for rights and equality.
- Is someone’s speech gonna make me cry?
- Okay, someone please tell me what the heck “The Shape of Water” is about.
- These stage designs are wild.
- Do they have rehearsals for this?
- No offense but what is the appeal of watching this because I’m kinda bored.
- Are they required to thank the Academy?
- I think there was a new “Star Wars” that I missed.
- How long are these shows?
- Why do they keep showing the same people’s reactions in the audience?
